DESCRIPTION: The gall here appears as a greenish to reddish elongated pod-like growth found along the midrib or rachis of individual leaves. The gall opens via a toothed longitudinal furrow on the upper surface. The gall is usually divided into 4 to 8 chambers from which the larvae escape in September to pupate in the soil. DISTRIBUTION: Occasional. HABITAT: On leaves of Ash, especially young trees.
